We are working to end world hunger and global poverty by providing basic necessities and opening life-changing educational outlets to communities in need and promoting healthy and positive relations through love, compassion, and awareness
LOVE
Love is at the center of everything we do. It is the foundation of our mission and makes our programs so special not only for the communities we serve but also for our dedicated volunteers. Love is what connects us all as humans and is truly one of the greatest gifts we can give to others. We take pride in emphasizing this value whether we are sharing a meal with others at a Food for the Soul event or training our volunteers for LMF Summer Camp, there is always more than enough love to go around.
COMPASSION
Compassion is the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another's suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering; it is the selfless desire to help others. Compassion is the driving force behind all of our programs and is the shared experience that brings our LMF community together. We develop our programs to serve our communities with the utmost compassion and respect; meeting them where they are, without any judgment, to provide them with what they need to alleviate the suffering poverty and hunger bring.
AWARENESS
Awareness is our greatest tool in advancing our mission and ending global poverty. We see awareness as a way to bring people together and with our other core values, the way we can change the world. By bringing awareness to our mission, we are able to reach new individuals (like you!) to join us in serving others with love and compassion. It allows us to build a strong, positive community that can and will make a real difference in the lives of others.

Since our beginnings in 2000, we’ve been driven by the values of support, empowerment, and progress. We want to be a catalyst for positive change in our communities. We aspire to create life-changing educational outlets to improve the lives of children who otherwise would not receive an education.

The only way we can truly change the world is as a team,
and there is no better time than now
Darah's passion for helping others and giving back started when she became a nurse in Philadelphia. In 2016, she became the founder of The Lizzie Mae Foundation for Humanity and began holding Food for the Soul events in communities in Philadelphia to not only share a warm meal but provide families with school supplies and other basic necessities.
Her passion now has an international reach through LMF Summer Camp held in Negril, Jamacia, impacting the community, kids, and families year after year.
